“Beyond the Brain” by the BIAL Foundation honoured at the Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards 2026

The BIAL Foundation’s “Beyond the Brain” series has been awarded a Silver Dolphin at the Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards 2026, one of the world’s leading competitions dedicated to corporate films, documentaries and online media productions.
The project received the award in the “Trailers and Teasers for Documentaries and Reports” category, recognising the quality and impact of a production that brings scientific research closer to wider audiences by exploring some of the most fascinating and challenging questions surrounding the human mind.
Exploring the human mind through science
Through the perspectives and research of 50 scientists and experts, “Beyond the Brain” presents the human mind as the epicentre of some of the most intriguing discoveries and questions of our time.
The series reflects the BIAL Foundation’s ongoing commitment to promoting the scientific study of the human being from both physical and spiritual perspectives, while making complex scientific topics accessible to broader audiences.
By bringing together researchers and specialists from different fields, the project demonstrates the important role of science communication in creating dialogue between scientific communities and society.
International recognition in Cannes
The Silver Dolphin was presented during the Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards Gala, held in Cannes on 24 September 2026.
The ceremony was attended by Mário Augusto, journalist; Paula Guedes, Secretary-General of the BIAL Foundation; André Banza, video editor; and Alexander V. Kammel, founder and president of the Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards.
This international recognition celebrates not only the quality of “Beyond the Brain”, but also the potential of audiovisual storytelling to communicate scientific knowledge, stimulate curiosity and engage audiences beyond academia.
At SPOT Nordic, we are pleased to highlight initiatives that strengthen the connection between science and society, advance science communication and increase the international visibility of Portuguese research and knowledge.
Congratulations to the BIAL Foundation and to everyone who contributed their expertise, dedication and passion to this project.
