Meeting of Portuguese Youth at the Ambassador’s Residence in Copenhagen with the Minister of Youth and Modernization

On November 3rd, the residence of the Ambassador of Portugal in Denmark, João Maria Cabral, was the venue for an inspiring meeting between young Portuguese residents in Denmark and the Minister of Youth and Administrative Modernization, Margarida Balseiro Lopes. The Board of SPOT Nordic was present, reinforcing the association’s commitment to support and represent the Portuguese in the Nordic countries.

The event brought together young students, researchers and professionals who shared their experiences, concerns and aspirations with the minister. During the meeting, crucial topics for the Portuguese diaspora in the region were discussed, such as organizational culture, connection to Portugal, reasons for leaving the country, and the importance of investing in research and professional growth freedom. The minister listened carefully to reports on the necessary support for families and flexibility in the work environment, topics that reflect the experiences and challenges of young Portuguese who have chosen Denmark to develop their careers and studies.

This meeting marked an important step to unite efforts and strengthen the link between Portugal and young professionals in Denmark, aligning with SPOT Nordic’s objectives of representing and defending the interests of the Portuguese community in the Nordic countries.
