SPOT Nordic, with the aim of recognizing individuals who have achieved outstanding results in their professional activity while residing in the Nordic countries, includes in its Statutes the possibility of awarding the status of Honorary Member to individuals of recognized merit who significantly contribute to the promotion and recognition of the quality of the work carried out by the Portuguese community in the Nordic countries.

In this regard, the Executive Board proposed the name of Pedro Oliveira, recently elected Dean of Nova SBE for the 2023–2026 term, for the awarding of this status.

Living between Copenhagen and Lisbon since 2018, he was one of the key drivers behind the creation of SPOT Nordic and has been an active member of the Portuguese community, strengthening ties between Portugal and Denmark. In addition to his extensive and renowned academic background, other notable roles include Co-founder and President of the Patient Innovation project, Co-founder of PPL Crowdfunding, and member of the Environment and Sustainability Council at EDP – Energias de Portugal.

It is, therefore, a privilege for SPOT Nordic to have as its first Honorary Member someone of recognized merit and high standing within Portuguese society, who embodies the values and goals of the Association.

Honorary Members are non-voting members of SPOT Nordic and are not subject to membership fees. However, they are invited to participate in SPOT Nordic events and activities and to offer guidance and advice to the board.

This title is granted for an indefinite period, and individuals may be proposed as Honorary Members of SPOT Nordic either by the Executive Board or by any member, with approval from the Board.

Proposals for new Honorary Members are exclusively accessible to current members and are subject to evaluation and approval by the Executive Board.
