SPOT Nordic, with the aim of recognising individuals who have achieved notable results in their professional activity while resident in the Nordic countries, provides in its Statutes for the award of Honorary Member status to people of recognised merit who contribute significantly to the promotion and recognition of the quality of the work of the Portuguese community in the Nordic countries.
With this in mind, the Executive Board proposed the name of Rita Laranjinha, Portuguese Ambassador to Denmark for the period 2018-2020.
As Ambassador of Portugal to Denmark between September 2018 and December 2020, she was the main driving force behind the creation of the Association of Portuguese Graduate Professionals and Researchers in the Nordic Countries, SPOT Nordic, having launched the invitation to the first president of SPOT Nordic and founder of the Association, Joana Lobo Vicente.
It is therefore a privilege for SPOT Nordic to have as an Honorary Member someone of recognized merit and prominence within Portuguese society and who reflects the Association's objectives.
Honorary Members are not voting members of SPOT Nordic and have no responsibility for membership fees. However, they are invited to participate in SPOT Nordic events and activities, as well as to provide guidance and advice to the board.
