🎓Nordic Grant 2025: Meet last edition winners and apply until November 17

The Nordic Grant (Bolsa Nordic), promoted by SPOT Nordic with the support of FCT – Foundation for Science and Technology, is back for its 2025 edition, reaffirming our commitment to the internationalization of Portuguese science and to strengthening collaborations between Portugal and the Nordic countries.

In 2024, two researchers stood out with innovative projects and significant scientific impact. Their experiences are shared in the Researcher’s Chronicle, a space dedicated to showcasing research work and opinion pieces by SPOT Nordic members.

Researcher’s Chronicle | Jade Müller is a MIT-Portugal PhD candidate at the Center for Industrial Ecology (CIE, ADAI-LAETA) at the University of Coimbra, where she focuses on developing and improving (environmental) life cycle assessment (LCA) approaches for emerging bioeconomy technologies. Her research integrates LCA with technical and socioeconomic indicators and multi-criteria decision analysis, aiming to support the development of more sustainable technologies. Researcher’s Chronicle | Isabel Neto is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon and a researcher at LASIGE. Her research focuses on exploring how robots can promote inclusion among people. She was awarded the Bolsa Nordic 2024 to develop the project “Real-Time Inclusion Metrics based on Conversations” during a research visit to the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden between February and March 2025. • Project duration: 2 - 6 months

• Open to PhD and postdoctoral researchers

• Requires a partnership with a Nordic institution and a local co-investigator

• Funds research and mobility-related expenses
